Urban Meyer 911 call is not good
Judging by the Urban Meyer 911 call, this dude needs a serious break from football
READ MORE:
I know a lot of people have gone back and forth on Urban Meyer. First it was "he definitely needs to chill out." Then it was "he's a drama queen since he's basically taking only a few months off and will coach next year."

I was in the latter camp after Meyer said he was going to coach again next year. But after seeing his wife's 911 call, I think he might want to retire. Permanently.

"My husband's having chest pains," Shelley Meyer said. "He's having chest pains, he just woke up in the middle of the night and said he's having chest pains."

Shelley Meyer said her husband had taken a sleeping pill that night and had suffered chest pains before. She repeatedly tried to rouse Meyer, who was lying on his stomach on the floor.

"Urban, Urban, talk to me," she says.

Shelley Meyer told dispatchers that her husband was breathing and appeared to be grunting.

"He almost sounds like he's kind of trying to cry," she said.

Meyer didn't want this story to come out for his kids' sake and the team's sake. Which I understand, I think.

I think what this really says is the man really does need some time off, and it should be longer than a few months. Otherwise, he might be dead by 50.

By all accounts Urban Meyer is a workaholic and its starting to wear him down physically.  As much as I can respect a guy who wants to be the best at what he does and continue to push forward doing what he loves, there comes a time when you have to put your well being first before it's too late.  I got a feeling if Meyer continues at the pace that he does, he'll have even more serious physical health problems sooner or later.

Lying on the floor, grunting and crying, happens to me all the time. Nothing to worry about.

I was shocked when I saw him on an interview the other day. He looked really drawn and gaunt....sorta like a speed freak after they've come down. The man definitely needs to take a break and get some priorities straight. It's great to love what you do, but it's not worth killing yourself.  You work to live, not live to work!

I don't understand why this is such a big deal. The guy had chest pains, and if they were anything like having a heart attack, I would cry too. Good luck with your faith, family and health Urban.

OK WTF??? We absolutely thrive on the soap opera end of things, but if I put myself in either person's place, this is so personal, and WTF right does anyone have to air it to the public? So, if you are a celebrity, or sports figure, your most intimate, embarrassing moments are fair game?
I AM A PROUD GATOR FAN, but regardless of who this happened to,this is BS that does not need to be on the record!
When you become a pro, you open yourself to much fodder, but a a collegiate coach, this affects so many young minds..WHY!

NATIONAL ENQUIRER MENTALITY!

How many of you slow down to check out an accident?
2010...I hope what it has to offer is better than this, cos this plain out sucks!

How about we concentrate on why we are paying media fees, for the games we cant watch.Leave these college coaches some semblance of dignity.
God Dawg if ya'll were up my ass 24/7 I'd damn sure some health issues!

When I listened to the 911 call, the thing that stood out the most to me was----how very calm and cool his wife was.  I know it is best to remain calm when you have to answer such questions to the 911 operator but DANG,she was 1 cool customer the whole time.
