I'm amused that you've found some confidence now that the Tigers have defeated Duke and Virginia.

I am also amused that you would make fun of me for making fun of the ACC, however you said nothing to defend your conference. My guess is there's not much to defend. This will be the best Orange Bowl ever! ACC vs. Big East. Too bad it's not college basketball.

Good luck next week. You guys definitely have the talent to win the game.

My reply had nothing to do with winning against Duke and Virginia. It had to do with the fact that the Gamecocks lose on a regular basis to Clemson, an ACC school.

First of all, I never said anything about the Gamecocks. My statement was about the ACC. As far as I'm concerned (and I think I speak for most football fans outside of the ACC area) - the ACC is not a good conference. Whether we (South Carolina) lose to Clemson or not (duh, I'm not going to deny that the TIgers have owned us), that doesn't change the fact that the conference sucks. I never said or implied that South Carolina was superior to Clemson or the ACC.

You're making a bad point that is irrelevant to the topic. The ACC sucks. The Big East sucks. They should be thankful that the BCS bids aren't updated yearly.

Yeah, we might be, but we would still own South Carolina. I never said anything about deserving a bowl on New Years Day. I did not even say that Carolina would be in the bottom of the ACC. I notice the only people that talk about how good there conference is, are the ones that root for the teams in the bottom of that conference. So I guess your positive the Gamecocks would beat Duke and Virginia. Just like you were with Vandy.

I'm still not sure why you're so hung up on South Carolina. No one said anything about South Carolina, and they have nothing to do with the conversation.

I'm a BC fan, and I'll be honest and say that the ACC sucks. I'm not excited about it, but I'm not delusional like yourself.

And is a Clemson fan really in a position to talk trash to ANYONE this year? Seriously... I can't think of many teams in the NCAA who underacheived and failed to meet expectations worse than Clemson.

In none of my posts did I brag about the ACC or Clemson. What I did say is that I found it funny that a fan of a team that consistently losses to an ACC team says that the ACC sucks. Clemson has in the past few years lost to several SEC teams, I know that. My post that you are replying to was a reply to a post that mentioned South Carolina winning the ACC or Big East. Do you think they could. I doubt it. So are you saying that BC can't beat Utah! Who has Utah beat that would scare anyone in the ACCor any conference, Oregon State? I don't think so.

But you still don't get it...

Where did he say that South Carolina IS better than anyone in the ACC? Nothing about his comment said anything about the Gamecocks.

I just think it's funny that when someone makes a valid point, you turn around and go after their team, even though it's completely irrelevant, simply because you're defensive about how disappointing your conference (and specifically your team) has been.

Clemson sucked this year, and the ACC sucked as well. That's a true statement, and is completely independent of anything else. If you want to go after my Eagles as well, go ahead. But it doesn't change the fact that the Clemson Tigers were arguably the most disappointing team in football this year.

OK. Since the original way I tried to discuss this topic didn't take, let's do this thing this way:

Do you think the ACC deserves a BCS bid this year? How about the Big East?

If you answered yes to the above, then do you think they deserve better than having to play Utah?

My original point was that the ACC and Big East will likely field the two worst teams in the BCS this year, therefore they will probably play each other. That would eliminate Utah from having to play the ACC team.

The ACC lost ten out of conference games this year, five of those ten losses were to teams ranked in the top 15 when they were played. Four of those losses were to Florida(twice), Alabama, and Southern Cal. All ranked in the top 5 right now. The only really bad loss was Middle Tennessee State over Maryland. The ACC was 6-4 against the SEC, they were 3-0 against the Big 12, 1-1 against the PAC 10, and 0-1 against the Big 10. Check the standings, the SEC has six teams above .500, the Big Ten has 7, the PAC-10 has 5, and the ACC has 9. How about wins against AP top 25 teams. The SEC and PAC-10 have 7, the Big Ten has 8, and the Big 12 and ACC have 11. I don't think the ACC is weak, it is just not top heavy.
