The Minnesota Wild went into Pittsburgh, and despite getting 35-15, rode goalie Niklas Backstrom and a stout defense to a 2-1 victory over the defending Stanley Cup champions last night. The Wild, who had been 0-8 on the road, scored the game-winning goal with 0.6 seconds left in the second period.
The Wild now have four days off until their next game, Thursday night against the Vancouver Canucks at the Xcel Energy Center at 7 pm. The game will be shown locally on Fox Sports North.
