Roy “Big Country” Nelson became the latest winner of The Ultimate Fighter reality series almost a week ago. Because of his poor physique, some people still doubt his ability. Nelson (14-4) was the first Internation Fight League (IFL) heavyweight champion. He defended his belt twice in the IFL against UFC veterans Fabiano Scherner and Brad Imes.
Nelson is also a very impressive grappler. He has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under the tutelage of Renzo Gracie and he has trained with MMA legends such as Randy Couture and Frank Shamrock.
In this video Big Country shows off his impressive ground game in a grappling match against top UFC heavyweight, Frank Mir. Mir is one of the top jiu jitsu fighters in the heavyweight division, but he had no answer for Big Country in this match. The match took place in 2003 at the Grapplers Quest event.
