Video of a drunken fan attacking Cubs pitcher Bob Howry
READ MORE:

I'm sure CriticalFanatic will have a lot more to say about this in the morning, but enjoy this video from Wrigley Field, complete with bonus commentary.

During tonight's game between the Chicago Cubs and the Colorado Rockies, Bob Howry surrendered a 3-run homer to Troy Tulowitzki, capping off a 5-run comeback by the Rockies. A presumably drunken fan did not like this, and went out to the mound to confront or attack Howry. Fortunately for Bobby Howry, the guy was stopped just before he got to him.

I have no idea who that is that runs in and tackles the guy, but he delivered a big hit just in time. The Bears might want to look into signing him.

By the way, Alfonso Soriano was the hero as the Cubs won anyway.

did you do the commentary ?   if so,    and lol :)

as for the rest..   stupid move on fan's part...  though I wonder if there were a few other people across the country screaming bad things and threats at their TV's after that HR..  this guy was just nuts enough to do it !

anyway, just so glad the cubs came back to win it..

and the interview after the game with howry was pretty good too if you get the chance to see it. :)

I'm not sure what this says about either me or my friends ... but I had far too many messages last night asking if that was me.

I was actually at this game, but we decided to leave after the 8th with the Cubs up 8-3. You'd think in most cases that would be safe.

Let's hope the YouTube 50 don't get to this one for a while.

Never leave a game early. Come on. I did that when the Phils played the Cubs, and we blew that lead going into the rain delay. Look what happened. Great 2nd half of the game.

Haha, no, that was not me. I'm not nearly as big of a tool as that guy is.

Personally, I would have gone after Scotty Eyre a few pitches earlier.

PLEASE somebody save this to their computer so I can see it after work.  I'm assuming the Youtube police are gonna get to it before tonight and I want to see.

And Jason...serves you right for leaving early, what're you doing man?!?

I understand his frustration .Maybe his depth perception was off and he didn't realize he was actually on the field until he was tackled.Dont drink and watch the Cubs.

I forget where I read this but I here the fan asked "What the hell are you doing out here, how can you blow this lead?" and Howry says "I am trying to give up Home Runs cause I love to lose." Or something like that, but I laughed pretty hard after reading it.

First, the fans are encouraged to drink beer and lots of it, then the organization is embarrassed when something like this happens....duh!

I'll give the Cubs credit though for having good enough security to immediately stop the guy, something the White Sox didn't have a few years back when the Royals first base coach was stabbed by a ''fan''.

Can anyone blame the Cubs fan? Well, who else would you blame? It doesn't matter how frusterated or drunk you are, you're still responsible for your own actions.

You're an idiot... Yes Len was wrong about it being a felony, it was a misdemeanor.. If he would have touched Howry I'm sure that they would have found a lot more charges to add to that. THE FAN WAS NOT DRUNK and was not charged with public intoxication.  The CUBS have banned alcohol in the clubhouse this year, so your comments about Lou were just plain stupid. Gets your facts straight buddy!!  You're probably a white sox fan. If that's the case then I will forgive your comments since you are legally retarded.

First the billygoat, then sammy sosa, then steve bartman, now this guy. The Cubs just can't seem to get a break. The should have like 10 pennants since 1990. Just ask the fans.
