Washington Redskins briefly considered Michael Vick, but decided he would not work
The teams that seemed likely to pick up Michael Vick are dwindling, as the Redskins confirm they don't want him.
The Washington Redskins were a popular team to potentially pick up Michael Vick given Dan Snyder's interest in big names.

But according to multiple league sources, the Redskins briefly discussed signing the ex-Falcons quarterback and came to a quick and unanimous conclusion. It would not work here.

Bad news for Vick, as the teams he could go to continue to dwindle.

The Toronto Argonauts already have Vince Young on their secret negotiations (now not so secret) list. Why not add Vick to that?

I said it a couple of years ago, and I'll say it again now that it is obvious; nobody wants Vick.  They don't want his slightly-above-average skills, and they don't want his face on thier francise.  Maybe he goes to Canada, but I don't see him starting on an NFL team.

Vick is a convicted felon.  He can't even legally enter Canada without some sort of government exemption.

No thanks Vick, we the Cleveland Browns got Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn; 2 quarterbacks is enough!

Hard to believe any player with Vick's ability is such a toxic waste that even a pro sports franchise wouldn't take a chance on him, given their history with wife-beaters, probable murderers, drug dealers, and such.

This fan seconds that sigh of relief.  If Dan Snyder would've signed Vick, I would've taken up a collection to by the Redskins my dang self!

Has he really been gone long enough to forget how un-relevant he really was?  Vick was a good QB at best. He was never a great, or amazing QB.  Don't get me wrong, Vick was (and maybe still is) an amazing athlete.  But in reality the thing that made him exciting to watch was his footwork. He is known for making plays on the ground, and not necessarily the model passer.  There are plenty of other equally-capable QBs out there without his laundry list of problems.   Even if we step ignore the dog-fighting incident, he still was involved in distributing pot, sneaking pot on an airplane, knowingly transmitting STDs to others, theft of an expensive watch, and failing drug test while out on bond.  What an outstanding citizen.
