Each martial art category does in fact have it's own skill and technique, and to determine which is considered the best depends upon the individual ability of the practioner to be diciplined, and mentally/physically in harmony with his/her surroundings (nature), and this must be coupled with the skill and technique.
The fact of the manner is that Bruce Lee identified the strength and flaw with each martial arts claim to be the best. Just as each individual has strengths and weaknesses--such that can either be enhanced, or diminished with the actions of an individual, each martial art will benefit individuals in differing ways--some more than others. The most relevant question for any individual should be, "which martial art is best for me", or "which martial art am I most suited from which to benefit".
Now a days we don't need martial art to fight someone but for develop our body and soul.
The best is Ninja fight. It is tough but it develops u physically, mentally and spiritually .
A real Ninja always control its emotions and never let out of control. It gives him a whole control over every aspect of life
there is no best martial art. every style has its own importance. eg: punch of boxing, kick of Taekwondo, knee of muay thai, fastness of kung fu and death punch of ninjitsu. those who compare are fools.
That is like asking "Which flower is more beautiful" All have strengths. Some may be a better fit, for some, than others..There are many paths to the same goal..but you got to move your ass.Rust Never SLEEPS
MMA is definitely a viable pugilistic style, incorporating several of the different and diverse martial styles. Even so, from my observation, its strongest element is on the ground; against multiple attackers that is a definite weakness. Then again, Jujitsu is an almost universal requirement for MMA fighters, and I must admit, I lack the knowledge to evaluate the styles capabilities from the standing position.
Without a doubt though, MMA is the closest thing to an unfettered combat situation than any other combative sport. For any of our Far Eastern friends--are there similar competitions in eastern or southeastern Asia?
Myself, I think Hapkido is one of the most incredible martial arts as is has origins from Chinese Chin-Na, influences from Japanese hard styles, and of course the dynamic kicks the from which the Korean arts are famous. It's a brutally efficient and practical art and one to which I was fortunate enough to prepare myself for by previous training in Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu, Tang Soo Do, and Wrestling (and not the WWE crap--I mean reall wrestling...LOL).
In consideration of the above posts, I found an incredible video link for Kalaripayattu (or Kalari) which can be seen by clicking on the provided link: www.youtube.com/watch
I can say arnis? XD. but still it depends upon the person who practices the art. All martial arts have their strength and weakness, advantage and dissadvantage, styles and forms. So it's quite impossible to say which is the best. But rather it should be asked what is much suited to your style or prefference.
When you learn how to combine the body, mind and soul together and truely understand the four elements
of life, then you are true. only then will you understand the true meaning of the art. Martial arts are not
all about fighting, It is about not fighting. Remember, it is a true wise man who listens more than he speaks. As far being powerfull, style does not govern power. The mind, body and soul governs power. obviously rohitiabm you are not pure of heart and need to practice more instead of talking. Good Luck and regards. You have alot to learn. Master D
I give you a "smart" for the top of your post, and a great amount of disappointment for the condescending nature of your closing, which I consider very unfortunate. Personal attacks only promote animosity, and not inspiration to learn further.
Although I've studied many styles, and practiced for many years beginning in my teenage years, I still consider myself to have a lot to learn. IMHO, life stops when a person quits looking for a truth greater than what one believes they have already.
I have studied the arts in the mountains of Hong Kong for years and I am very disappointed in your statement. You are correct, you will never learn what needs to be learned in ones lifetime, That i respect. I do not have respect for people who do not know what the true meaning of the arts are. Sometimes one has to be forcefull verbally to teach the truth. If you are the person you say you are, you would know this.
LOL.....and it is the ignorant that claim knowledge and the wise that seek it. It seems that in speaking of a pure heart you have yet to find yours. Your confrontational and sanctimonious nature, as you have presented yourself does not reflect a higher condition of learning, nor understanding.
as i known is "varma kalai",its originated from India. and it cud bring sudden death to strangers....even very turf to learn that art....this type of martial arts only focusing/attack on our nerves system....
yep...i do aggree 2...all the martial art are different from one n other!!!!
only make ur best 2b the real best one in every single thg of ur life time 2!!!
The best martial arts is the one you are currently practicing. As with any martial art you are effectively competing with yourself therefore if you can achieve your goal doing one or the other go for it. Work with your own body. The motivation should be from within otherwise you will be disappointed.
The geeky answer: you body mechanics defines what you would be good at. Do your research and see which on fits you - not your neighbour or Bruce Lee.

I dont Agree With tieulyphidao0phidao There can be an art form that can be better tahn any other ...... Like MMA .... a trained MMA fighter can defend and attack against any other Martial Art. Same Is MUAY THAI its just an ancient form of MMA..... The fighters were supposed to defend the king from all kinds of attack in the war....... and failing was not an option
The best martial art is acctually shoalin Kung fu.
It derives from many styles of Kung fu, and uses the best parts of each. I've been studing it since I've been 11 years old.
martial arts has different disciplinz and all ov them av respectable values and norms.so i would say all are best in their own disciplines.like karate for example.its the way of the empty hand thus good for prrotecetion without any fighting tool.am sorry if am baised towards karate but though am a karateker that it.
well as my friends rigtly said dere is no martial arts dats gud or bad..all have their uniques style and philosphy.so it will eb wrong to comapre diff martial arts....
Opinions abound and I am no rejector of objective views butttttttt----you have to admit there are some which stand out. One that comes to mind is Jeet Kun Do ---- "the way of the intecepting fist" ---- Style is based on a principle of defending by offense. Speed and timing are important course but one of the biggest factors of it's effectiveness is the element of suprise since most attackers expect a block or avoidance reaction--not a carefully placed and painful blow!
All martial Arts are best. Because they all are derived from the same concept of spiritual and physical enhancement.
No Martial Art is better than the other. But you can consider the berst techneques from each martial arts to be used for each situations and conditions.
The best way is to encorporate each techneques according to each situation that we face.
I seem to agree with the sentiment of there not being any such thing as a "Best Martial Art" but i have tried my hand at both Karate and Tae Kwon Do and i found that finally Tai Chi suits me the best. So i guess its both about the style and the individual practicing it
