Who should the Mets trade for to fill in at Shortstop?
Now that the Mets have addressed some of their needs in the outfield and on the mound. Now they should focus their attention at the middle infield and bullpen. The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Seattle Mariners are looking for starting pitchers and the Mets have that and they're young. The Mets on the other hand have middle infield problems particularly at shortstop and both the Mariners and the D'backs have young prospects that could be of service to the Mets. Names like Didi Gregorius, Chris Owings from Arizona and Nick Franklin and Dustin Ackley pop up as prospects that can be on the move and they fit the needs in which the Mets have.
So by these problems that each of these teams have, the Mets could have a match and they have the necessary pitching to do so. Maybe a Dillion Gee and a pitching prospect like Jacob Degrom could be traded along with a hitter like Daniel Murphy to bring back one of these promising young prospects that could potentially fill a huge hole in the field and add another bat to an improving lineup.
I personally think that the Mets should ask what the price would be for Ackley and Gregorius. If the price isn't that high I say that Sandy Alderson should pull the trigger and try to bring another everyday player. They do have Montero and Syndergaard coming up later in this season and they are waiting for Harvey to comeback. Adding one of these young players can pull them even closer to contention.
