Who will coach USC basketball team now that Tim Floyd has resigned?
OK, now that Tim Floyd is gone and USC will likely have the hammer dropped on it, who wants to coach this team?
Even though USC doesn't have much of a basketball tradition, and it's likely facing some steep sanctions, it remains a premier job. After all, it's in LA, and there's a large recruiting base in SoCal to draw from. So who might take the gig now that Tim Floyd has resigned? Here are five potential candidates.

1. Jamie Dixon (Pitt)
2. Reggie Theus (Former Kings and New Mexico St. coach)
3. Randy Bennett (St. Mary's)
4. Larry Eustachy (Southern Miss)
5. Mike Davis (UAB)

Who do you think will wind up at USC?

I have said it before (when Floyd was interviewing at Arizona) and I will say it again, I think Jamie Dixon is the man for USC.  He has family and connections in Southern California, and has expressed a desire to come to the area.  He will be at a (relatively) high profile program, and they will likely pay him a lot in an attempt to move forward and wipe the egg from their face that Tim Floyd's whole ordeal caused.  But who knows...in college basketball, plenty of fishy things occur.

USC will probably have to wait to see if they get sanctioned before they hire anyone, or correction, before anyone accepts the job.

Dixon makes too much sense. I think he has been dying to get back out, also he would be able to go against the man who mentored him at Northern Arizona and Pitt.

Yeah, and if he does go then he'll be at USC and his former boss from NAU would be at UCLA. That would be cool for NAU to have their two former head basketball coaches coaching at UCLA and USC.

Is Bob Huggins or Jim Harrick looking for a job?

How about Matt Leinart? He's not doing much these days...

Or maybe Dennis Green...after a loss to UCLA, we'd get to hear "The Bruins are who we thought they were".

I feel bad for bears. The Cubs suck, the Bears aren't who we thought they were, and now UCLA may not be either.

*Checks for PETA.* Pheww...

How about Bobby Knight? Maybe Rick Barnes of Texas or Bruce Pearl. Mike Davis is a great catch. I would try for RB though.

Reggie Theus - you are kidding right?  While he may dress the part, he seems like a less than perfect candidate for the position.
