Jeter's contract runs out after the 2010 season. Are the Yankees willing to give him one more big contract or will they play hardball and let him go. Will he be looking for A-Rod dollars? If so I would think it may be time to part ways with this future Hall of Famer.
Jeter should never be mentioned in the same sentence as ....A-FRAUD. I don't think its all about the money for Jeter. Jeter will be a Yankee for his entire career. Because he loves the game.I am sure the Yankees will make him a competetive offer. He is the best in baseball. I LQQK forward to seeing the Yankees letting A-FRAUD go.AR is not a team player never has been and never will. I am sure the Yankees will make the right decision for the team
It would be one of if not THE biggest crime in sports history to allow Jeter to go to a different team. He might go year-by-year with the Yankees until he feels he is done, or if the Yankees want to take control of the situation, they'll "force" him to retire. I don't think there is any way that we ever see Jeter wearing another team's uniform.
no way he can get A-Rod dollars, and don't think he would try to, he's much more of a class act compared to A-Rod who probably rolls around in a pile of money with Kate Hudson. Without having anyone behind him to replace him direcly I doubt it. They will keep him around for name alone.
No way would the Yankees let Jeter go. He's the face of the franchise, and a 1st ballot HOF'mer. I would be shocked if I see Jeter in a uniform OTHER than the Yankees.
Jeter is and will forever be, a Yankee. He isn't going anywhere. Don't be shocked if an extension gets signed, even though Cashman doesn't always like to deal with these kind of issues until contracts are up.
I concure with you all. Jeter is in a class all his own. I am proud to have my kids look up to him as a hero. He will forever be a Yankee legend!! You will see him riding in future parades just like "Mr. October" Reggie Jackson, and Yogi Baby. He is here to stay.
He will retire after next season. Too old to play at the level he could when he was in his 20s.
Sorry, yankees fans. Now you'll need to make another trade that is horrible now, but turns out to be one of the best things you ever did. Or find Yogi Berra's grandkid and have him play Shortstop.

Trade for Cabrera from the Twins........we just need your back up 3rd baseman as you won't give up/we couldn't afford A-rod..LOL
Wouldn't it be wild if Jeter went to the Red Sox and moved to third base?
I have said for three years now that come 2011, the Red Sox (or even the Mets) should make some ridiculous offer to Jeter, just to embarrass the Yankees. I mean, something totally out of bounds, like $80 million a year for 5 years. The Sox have the money, and this will do one of two (maybe three) things. a) Jeter will sign with the Sox for this exorbitant amount of money, thus humiliating the Yankees by taking away their captain or b) it will force the Yankees to spend this same gigantic amount of money to keep him. (the sort of third thing is it will piss off the players union if the Sox make a legitimate huge offer to Jeter and he turns it down for a smaller amount from the Yankees - thus proving how hypocritical the MLBPA is). Either way, it would be high drama if it ever came to this. I doubt it ever will; the Yankees will resign him before he becomes a free agent.
