Woman claims that Steve McNair was the father of her 17 year old daughter
After 17 years of not caring about it, a Mississippi woman is now claiming that Steve McNair is her child's father, and she wants some of his $19.6M estate.

Clover Lee, a woman from Mississippi, is claiming that Steve McNair was the father of her 17 year old daughter. It's a mighty convenient time to finally make the claim, since they're in the process of dividing up the estate of the former NFL QB.

This is opportunism at its lowest point. One can only hope that this woman gets left out in the cold this time. I feel bad for the child either way, but the mother deserves nothing.

The poor McNair family just can't get any peace.  That's partially their son's fault, but this woman has reached a new low... social-climbing over dead people.

It will have to be proven that the child is, in fact, McNair's. If it's his child, then the estate has a responsibility to the child, as it does to the other children. Since the mother did not petition the court for support prior to today's petition, she will not be able to collect child support retroactively. Child support in MS is from the date of petition through emancipation(age 21). She's has less than 4 yrs of support to collect.

Bottom line: IF it's his child, the child should be taken care of like all his other children.

I agree that the mother of this child should get nothing. It was her choice not to tell him that she was pregnant with his child. Not to mention she denied her daughter the chance to get to know her father. Now that he is gone she wants to claim her fair share. NO way if he is the father then the money/what ever she gets should go into a Trust. This mother should not be able to get her hands on any of it!

ok, this would have made mcnair about 19 at the time. and she lives in the same state he went to college to, so its possible, but she missed out on her chance to do anything and waited about 14 years too long, so she should get nothing.

Let's not rush to judgment against this lady. Get all the facts before you crucify her and remember, it's not about McNair or this lady...it's about the child (alleged child).

Don't get too carried away because if you just found out that your millionaire dad, that you never met before,  just passed away, you too would want a piece of the estate. Be real!
