Despite the team making it pretty clear that tickets were only available online, some Yankees fans waited outside the ticket office at Yankee Stadium, and were angry once they were told that they wouldn't be able to buy tickets.
"I'm devastated. I woke up this morning believing I would make it to my first World Series."
-Luis Segarra, 30, of the Bronx
You probably should have woke up and double checked the information on the team website. Then maybe you would really have been going.
"I'm very mad because some of us have waited in the cold for three hours. If I can't get tickets I won't watch the game on TV. I took off work to be here."
-Joe Amankwah of Long Island
Yeah, Joe... that'll teach 'em. Don't watch the games on TV. You're such a true fan.
"My uncle just called and he's cursing up a storm. It's wrong for them to do this."
-Amanda Cancel, 21, of the Bronx, whose uncle paid her $100 to stand in line for the tickets
Wrong for them to do... what, exactly?
"This would have been the first time I would see a World Series. Instead, nothing."
-Isaiah Labato, 16, who skipped school to buy tickets
Isaiah, I think you would done better to just go to school. It looks like you could use it, since you can't even read a website to find out how to get tickets. I don't feel bad for you anyway. You're only 16. By the time you're old enough to drink, the Yankees will have gone to the World Series at least 2 more times... consider this a dress rehearsal... maybe you'll get it right next year.
I'm not even sorry for saying that I don't feel even a little bad for these people. No one is entitled to see a World Series game... especially people that can't even follow simple instructions. Suck it up, and go find a scalper if you really want to go.
