Yao Ming will delay wait to make a decision on possibly career ending surgery
Yao Ming is waiting to make a final decision about potentially career ending surgery
Yao is going to wait at least a week before he makes a final decision on microfracture ankle surgery, which is at least a year ending, and potentially career ending procedure.

Personally, I'm not sure that it matters at this point. With or without the surgery, most teams will be very wary of him if/when he comes back, and he's definitely not going to get the huge payday that everyone expected him to get in 2010.

In all reality, even a year or two of dominant performance might not be enough to convince anyone, because he has been so ridiculously brittle in the past.

Can Yao still salvage a career out of this mess? It's a shame to see all that potential laid to waste by a few nagging injuries.

I just have to give congrats to Yao.  Even if he never plays again, he was much better than I ever thought he would be, and I guess he's the best teammate on earth.

Hopefully Yao will play again, because both the league and the Rockets need him. He has made a dramatic impact on the NBA internationally, thats why the league needs him. The Rockets need him because without him, T-Mac or Ron-Ron, they're a lottery team, unless they move to the Eastern Conference, then they'll be the 6th seed.

Yeah, the other Chinese players haven't really lit the league up. The NBA really needs Yao if they want to keep the momentum going in China.
