While Vandy and MSU students are rushing the court these days ... apparently Chickens rush the court at Kansas St.
“My first year here, one of them actually hit me,” Self said. “So this year I was pretty glad that we were on the other side of the court (from the students). I didn’t feel as threatened.”A chicken ... a real actual chicken hit Bill Self? How? Where? Why? Lastly, should one be scared of chicken?
Thankfully, our intrepid Kansas basketball insider senecasfinest is here to enlighten us all:
Well, K-State is an ag school and has a history of throwing live chickens on the floor, along with "other" items. They used to paint the chickens red and blue, but I don't think there was a painted one this year. But yeah, they have smuggled in live chickens to throw on the court during KU introductions, although the majority (as the one in the picture) are fake. Wrap your mind around that one. After further prodding, I've learned that by "other" he means condoms. And by condoms, I mean something Tom Brady wishes he had used.
So there you have it ... I'm going to go ahead and add Kansas St-Kansas to the list of college basketball rivalry games I must attend.
Upate: If you're down for some flying live chicken goodness ... here's footage. Pay close attention at the :32 mark
