Five for Booing. Alex Rodriguez hit his 5th home run in first 6 games. A feat no other Yankee has accomplished, which is quite a list considering some guys named Ruth and Mantle. However, the bigger story for New York was getting a quality start out of Carl Pavano. No doubt it's easier to pitch when you have the comfort of a 5-run lead immediately, but Pavano should comfort all Yankee fans with an efficient performance.

Padres announcers win pitching duel Matt Cain and Chris Young were nearly unhittable last night, particularly Cain who took a no-no into the 7th. The boxscore may show Khalil Greene breaking it up, but I'm giving credit to the Padres booth. Seemingly mentioned the fact Matt Cain had a no-hitter whenever the conversation permitted. Nice work.
