An abbreviated (because someone was inebriated) recap of last night's NBA playoff games ...
The theme of the night for me was - underestimating.
Thanks for coming, Chicago Det 108, Chi 87 I will spare you any 'Bulls are playing atrocious' rant from me this morning (maybe). Truth is, if Chicago was at it's best in these first two games they'd still have lost. I may have underestimated how good defensively these 'Stons have been/are/will continue to be. I only caught a couple instances where the help side D wasn't in perfect position. Chicago was helpless. Unable to penetrate, unable to get an open look, and unable to string together any consecutive points until Tyrus Thomas infused the Bulls with some energy. To that point, can we see a lot more of Thomas in Game 3, Scotty? Some astute fan pointed out early on last night that the rookie was the Bulls best chance to score. (18 points, 3 stls in the second half)
Anything you can do, I can do better Utah 116, 112 Why have you been hiding this from us Utah? I'm not going to knock Jerry Sloan, but the Jazz seem more than comfortable playing at this frenetic pace. They were smooth, efficient, and surprisingly fun to watch. (I'm curious how our beloved founder Ty is dealing with this series. Hometown team against his two favorite Illini?) Deron Williams should have been an All-Star this year, so let's hope his 31-point in command of the game performance will open some eyes. I have to echo what the announcers brought up several times ... Warriors settled for WAY too many outside shots. When they attacked they scored and drew fouls. Get Boozer in trouble, good night Utah. Jazz had better win Game 2 because they're not winning in Oakland.
Let me know your thoughts on last night's games, and what you expect tonight in Phoenix. (AP Photo/Jeff Chiu)
