The biggest game out of the early games definitely has to be #9 LSU and #3 Alabama. This game is basically a National Championship elimination game, since the winner has a chance to play for the BCS Title if they win out, while the loser will likely be sitting at home. Another huge game is the Big 10 matchup between #16 Ohio State and #11 Penn State. It's bigger for Iowa than it is for either of these teams, though. If Penn State wins, Iowa virtually clinches the conference championship, barring an inexplicable loss to someone like Northwestern or Minnesota. Here's today's schedule:

12:00
#21 Wisconsin vs Indiana
Syracuse vs #13 Pittsburgh [ESPNU]
UCF vs #2 Texas
Northwestern vs #4 Iowa [ESPN]
Virginia vs #17 Miami

2:30
Navy vs #22 Notre Dame [NBC]

3:30
Washington State vs #18 Arizona
#8 Oregon vs Stanford
Wake Forest vs #10 Georgia Tech [ABC]
#19 Oklahoma State vs Iowa State [ABC]
#16 Ohio State vs #11 Penn State [ABC]
#9 LSU vs #3 Alabama [CBS]

4:00

#6 TCU vs San Diego State

Iowa looks really good early on.  Especially on defense. 10-0 in the first.

Pitt needs to get it going and find the end zone. Don't let a team like Syracuse hang around

Shocker! Major shootout in Ann Arbor. Michigan leads Perdue, 17-10.

Uh oh, Stanzi is shaken up, fumbled in the end zone, TD Northwestern.

Down goes Stanzi...is their ridiculous run of luck over?

If the Badgers had a decent QB that didn't throw ducks 75% of the time, I firmly believe we would've taken the Big Ten this year. #1 in rushing offense and rushing defense should always equal contending for a conference title.

Michigan 24-10, WR Roy Rountree is having a great day.

And according to the referees in the Iowa game, tackling is now a personal foul

Iowa with another turnover... just how many times are they going to be able to escape?

WOW... the Big Ten quarterbacks collectively are awful passers

Nice to see Illinois carrying over the momentum from last week's blowout of Michigan to today's game against Minnesota.  Juice Williams is out with an ankle injury, Jacob Charest soldifying his spot as next year's starter by leading the Illini down for a touchdown... 21-7 Illinois

Northwestern needs to finish off Iowa so Ohio State can KO the Hawkeyes next week.  Then again, I'd love to see Iowa finish undefeated to show how ridiculous it is that we don't have a playoff.  Clearly, I'm a bit conflicted.

Yeah, I'm for your first thought.  I'm tired of the Iowa (we can barely beat average teams) story.  Go Northwestern.  Watch Iowa score a late touchdown and win by a point or two.

Terry Hawthorne with a great defensive play for the 2nd straight week, Jacob Charest slinging the ball all over the Minnesota secondary and Mikel Leshoure solidfying the running game... damn the future for Illinois football looks bright.  If only Ron Zook could learn how to coach in game and do it consistently

Dadburn!!! Great defensive play by Perdue, and they scored on 1 Offensive play after that! Perdue right back in it!

Today's top story from the no-surprise department, Pitt is murdering Syracuse.  They just scored another TD on a 2-play, 75-yard drive, 26-3 Panthers pending the PAT.

Illinois with another goal line stand... Minnesota kicks a field goal after having the ball 1st and goal from the 1.  Illinois 28-10 halfway thru the 3rd quarter

Oh BTW, Greg Paulus threw his 12th pick of the year in the first half, and it went back the other way for 6.

Purdue back on top 31-30 in the 3rd quarter LOL!

Yeah, can't quite figure out how we haven't put this game away yet. We've clearly been the better team, but Indiana makes just enough plays to stay in. Hopefully we limit them to a FG and go down and score a TD and end this game.

Kentucky's only up 10-6 on EKU. Where's Randall Cobb when you need him?

Refs miss an obvious pass interference call which halts Illinois' great drive.  They settle for a field goal and miss.... two steps forward, 3 steps back

Second week in a row the Wolverines fail to show up for the 2nd half.  After being down by 14 points at the half, Purdue now leads 38-30 with the ball and under 8 minutes left

Why is it that when something has worked over and over again, coaches stop doing it?  Zook and company have stopped pressing and blitzing the Gophers and Adam Weber is now picking them apart.  Illinois playing not to lose and have now blown a 28-7 lead.  Gophers score twice, convert a 2 point conversion and trail 28-25 with over 9 minutes left in the game

Lol, yep.  The whole state was talking about that late this week.

The real issue though is a lack of depth.  Iowa is a well coached over achieving team with little depth.  Stanzi isn't the best QB out there, but the problem today was a lack of a suitable back up.

Okay, 3 and 18 and Nassib got sacked, 4th and 32, experiment failure for Syracuse, game over.  Pitt remains perfect in Big East play with 2 more conference games, biggest ones of the year as well.

If Ricky Stanzi going down is something that completely deflates your team, you probably weren't that good to start with.  Stanzi is a turnover machine (except, of course, when he played my Badgers).

1) He's a freshmen
2) He's a running back
3) He plays in the Big East

Personally, I think the race is wide open and my leaders would be Jonathon Dwyer and CJ Spiller, but Dion Lewis has had a wonderful year as well.  Unfortunately, it looks like the media is trying to slowly spin it towards Tebow.  After last week I saw a few articles supporting him for Heisman.  This will slowly build until he's finally the favorite and we're all left wondering how the heck that happened.

I'd love to see that happen.  The reason I can think of as to why Lewis is not getting the Heisman talk is because he's a freshman.

You had 3 attempts, and failed to give me a legitimate reason

Yes, he's a freshman. So? Don't argue historical precedent. That's an invalid reason.
Yes, he's a running back. Last time I looked, I thought the Heisman showed a running back (or maybe a receiver) in action moving down the field, not a quarterback dropping back to pass.
And as far as the Big East, well...I'm a bit biased there, and I think they're stronger than they get credit for. We'll have to wait for the dust to settle on bowl season. Another 3-0 debacle by Pitt though, and I won't have much to stand on.

Dwyer and Spiller both have pretty good stats, and should get a look as well. And you're spot on with the media trying to tip it to Tebow. I like Tebow, a lot, both as a player and as a person, but I don't think his play this year has been Heisman caliber. Sure, he should be in the discussion, but if he plays the way he has been, he doesn't deserve to win it

I picked Pitt not because I hate LSU, because I really don't hate LSU - but because I've seen many LSU games so far this season, and their offense is not great.

Hey, unlike others on here, I'm no shill for the SEC.  Sometimes I get tired of all the hate on here from fans of other conferences, and feel like I constantly have to defend the conference and UF on a daily basis, but I try not to have that defensive attitude cloud my judgment.

Well, this turned into a disaster quickly. Looks like Iowa/OSU will be for the Big Ten title.

Does Notre Dame ever play on the road? Everytime I turn them on, they are at home.
They'll be at Heinz Field next week.

But at least I have Navy to soften the blow.

So their only two true road games this year are @Purdue, @Michigan, and @Stanford.

The Pitt game isn't a true road game?

Yes they do, they share it with the Steelers.  Why do you think the turf needs to be replaced 10 bajillion times a year?

True (though I barely pay attention to the Pittsburgh area ).

I was thinking it was similar to the situation next year when Oklahoma plays Cincinnati at Paul Brown Stadium. It is a road game but since it isn't "at" Cincinnati then it wouldn't be a "true" road game.

Mark Ingram should get the Heisman trophy this year. I think it's amazing that Bama has never had a Heisman winner.

Yeah it's not like that, Pitt's home stadium is Heinz Field.  They tore down Pitt Stadium after the 1999 season and began sharing with the Steelers in 2000, last year of Three Rivers.

Ok then four true road games, plus a game in San Antonio that they got to bring in about 30 recruits from Texas watch them beatdown Washington St.

It looked like he did to me. If not two then one and a toe for sure.
