Picking Winners - Week 7
FanIQ Consensus (4-9) was taken to the woodshed this week courtesy of a deluge of upsets. It wasn't pretty. Our exerts average (5-8) didn't fair much better, and I'm proud to point out 8 fans outmatched all pundits. The biggest of the upsets was the Houston Texans, where only 3% of fans picked the victory of Jacksonville (0 experts). And just 7% picked Tampa Bay over Philadelphia.

Real Experts - Very few experts broke broke the .500 barrier, but Pete Prisco (8-5, Sportsline) led the way after picking the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Dunces - The leaderboard looked like a pundit massacre. It's not pretty, and the two with the most blemishes were Dan Shanoff (3-10) and Nate Davis (3-10, USA Today, pictured). Against the Spread - Week 7
FanIQ Consensus (6-6-1) and expert average (6-6-1) performed admirably considering 9 out of 13 underdogs were victorious. The most difficult game to pick with the points was obviously Oakland (+3) over Arizona. Only 13% picked the previously unbeaten Raiders.
Real Experts - Dan Pompei (8-3, pictured) is representing the Sporting News well by leading the experts for the second straight week. Peter King (7-4-1, Sports Illustrated) and Seth Wickersham (7-4-1) get an A grade for the week.Dunces - Greg Bromberg (3-9-1, Sportsline) and Steve Lassan (3-9-1, ProFootballNet) took the brunt of oddsmakers. The odds were so challenging, even normally dead-on Harmon Forecast (4-8-1, Sportsline) was way off.
