One Win Could Change Everything for the Better
The team makes the playoffs, goes on a deep run and wins the Super Bowl or they do not make it at all. With two Lombardi Trophies in five seasons, it is safe to say that for whatever reason, this has worked for the boys in blue.
With that said, however, this is something that needs to change. Sure, two Super Bowls are great and will always be remembered for professional sports is more about the “what have you done for me lately” mantra rather than what a team has done in the past.
Lately, the Giants have been an utter disappointment. With the way the team has started out this season, the team looks like they could miss the postseason for the second time in three years and should that happen, some big changes might need to be made.
So, with the team taking on the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs tomorrow, the Giants will need to do the following to get a win on the board and get the team moving in the right direction:
For the past several seasons, Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning has come through time and time again for his football club.
Unfortunately, that has not been the case this season. Manning has had trouble getting his team down the field on a consistent basis, has turned the ball over way too much and has looked defeated out on the turf.
It is time that the rest of his teammates step up and do what they can to take the pressure off of their franchise QB. They need to be able to make the big plays both on offense and defense to help get Eli control of the game and in the position to lead his team to a victory.
Eli needs to be Eli
Speaking of Eli, he needs to go out and have himself a big game.
Eli needs to march his team down the field and put them in position to put points up on the board. The turnovers may have hurt his team in their week one loss to the Cowboys but nevertheless, Eli’s offensive effort had his team in the game the whole night.
Eli has what it takes to get the offense back on track. He just needs to do it now.
Going into tomorrow’s tilt with the Chiefs, the Giants have the league’s worst defense.
The team’s defense is the perhaps the main reason why the Giants are where they are. They have not been able to come up with the big stops, have not put enough pressure on opposing QB’s and have not created turnovers to get Eli control of the ball.
In sports, it is sometimes said that a team’s best offense is its defense. The Giants need to take and utilize that attitude tomorrow afternoon.
