The Alabama Crimson Tide play the LSU Tigers today in Baton Rouge. 'Bama will look to improve to 10-0, and 6-0 in the SEC with a win, and maintain their #1 ranking. The Bayou Bengals would love nothing more than to ruin former coach Nick Saban's chance at a National Championship, in return for the way he unceremoniously dumped them for only a 2-year NFL gig, after which he came back to coach their hated rivals from Alabama.
This game will likely be dominated on the ground. Alabama averages over 200 rushing yards per game, and LSU averages 186. Through the air, Alabama only averages 163 yards from QB John Parker Wilson, while LSU is a little more balanced, with 216 passing yards per game.
The key here will be how the defenses can step up. Both teams have excellent defenses, and whoever is able to stop the other team's rushing attack will likely win, as neither passing game is likely to take over the game.
This is Alabama's last real test before the SEC Championship game, so if they win this, they will be in excellent shape to make a Championship run.
66% of FanIQ picked Alabama to win. I am going to disagree with them on this one. If it were in Tuscaloosa, I think they would win. But I just have a feeling LSU will get their revenge on Saban, 24-21.
