#10 South Florida Loses To Unranked Pitt, As The Rash Of Upsets Continue
The Upsets Are Piling Up. #10 South Florida Is Next, After Losing To Pitt, Who Was Upset In Week One
Just when you thought that South Florida was ready to take over the Big East, the same thing happened to them that happened to dozens of other teams this year: the fatal upset.

Pitt beat them on Thursday night 26-21, to take over 1st place in the Big East with a 2-0 conference record. Pitt was picked by many to win the Big East at the beginning of the year, but most of them backed off after their week 1 loss to Bowling Green. But after beating USF, the Panthers are actually in an excellent position to win the conference, and get an automatic bid in a BCS bowl game.

Pitt's Lesean McCoy ran for 142 yards and 2 TD's to lead the Panthers to their 5th straight win.

The Bulls will likely plummet in the standings. I would love to predict where they might end up, but with the upsets this year, there's no telling who else will lose. I'll go with #19.

The good news for the Bulls is that there was a VP debate tonight and playoff baseball so no one cares.  The bad news is that they are in the Big East so any loss is considered the end of the world.

Losing to Bowling Green was a wake up call for the Panthers, and they've been getting better every week since.  Those who did watch the game got to see just how good LeSean McCoy is.

This victory should get the locals to back of Coach Wannsteadt at least until their next loss.  With next 4 games against Navy,Rutgers,Notre Dame and Louisville with only home game being Rutgers their immediate future doesn't look real wonderful.  Coach also might want to watch his back as AD Steve Pederson, formerly at Nebraska, is not exactly known for backing good coaches.  So what will he do for Dave.

I wouldn't exactly say Wannstedt has to watch his back because of Petersen, he needs to watch his back because his tenure at Pitt before this year was...how can I put this, lousy!
