10/31 NBA Triple Threat: Cleveland's Woes Continue

NBA
Players need to be ready to pass, shoot or dribble ... fans need to know the scores, stats and rumors. Your daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:

Dallas embarrasses Cleveland Still hungover from the Indians' debacle, Cleveland fans then had to see the Cavs come out of the gate completely listless, losing 92-74 to the Mavs. It was one of the worst games of LeBron's career, as he scored just 10 points, including none in the first half. James also spent most of the game in foul trouble, and none of his teammates save Zydrunas Ilgauskas (17 pts, 18 rebs) picked up the slack. Not surprisingly, Dallas took an early lead and had little trouble holding it throughout.

Arenas does it again...but not in OT If you haven't already seen the video of Agent Zero's latest late game heroics, please do so. His latest magic forced overtime against Indiana. From there however, it was all Pacers, who won 109-100. This was despite not having Jermaine O'Neal or Troy Murphy due to injury. The real hero ended up being Jamaal Tinsley, who scored 16 points in the fourth quarter and overtime. If we take Arenas' word for it, new head coach Jim O'Brien is already making an impact in Indiana: "All you need to do is just let them go. They don't look like robots this year. They look like a totally different team."

Nets over Bulls again at home For the 12th straight time in New Jersey, the Nets defeated the Bulls, this time 113-102 in the other overtime game of the night. Antoine Wright and Richard Jefferson were the heroes for the Nets. Wright scored 14 of his career high 21 in the fourth and OT, while Jefferson hit a three late to give the Nets a six point lead, then blocked a shot to effectively end Chicago's chances. The Bulls came back from seven down in the final 90 seconds to force overtime. Unfortunately for them, poor execution on the final play of regulation prevented Chicago from completing the comeback.

Best Lines
  • Jamaal Tinsley, Ind: 20 pts, 9 rebs, 8 ast, 3 stl...Unfortunately for the Pacers, this is unlikely to being anywhere close to a typical nightly line for Tinsley.
  • Manu Ginobili (FBS), SA: 30 pts, 13-14 FT, 5 rebs, 7 ast, 2 stl, 1 blk...He may be last in our hearts, but FBS was first for the Spurs tonight in a close win over a game Memphis team.
  • Allen Iverson, Den: 25 pts, 5 rebs, 14 ast, 7 stl
Rumors du Jour
  • Magic: Deng a dealbreaker...Your latest Kobe rumors, along with the earlier information of the deal that sent Artest to LA. Where will Kobe go and what other players will be involved?
  • Pavlovic signs 3 year deal...This will help the Cavs (assuming Pavlovic is in game shape or close), but Varejao would help more.
  • Jamison's last year in Washington?...At 31, it's unlikely Jamison has many more years left at his current levels. If the Wizards struggle, could Jamison be a trade candidate?
Discuss the action both on and off the court on Halloween night.

Hopefully more Eastern Conference coaches adopt O'Brien's philosophy.
