Anyway, if that article is accurate, then this bit of news should come as no surprise.
It appears that some former Laker on the 1999-2000 NBA Championship team is selling his ring on eBay.
One authentic 1999-2000 Los Angeles Lakers NBA Championship Ring. This ring was designed and crafted by "Henry Kay Jewelers" and comes in its original rosewood presentation case with personalized plaque.......top is paveed with 27 brilliant cut diamonds weighing approximately .50Ct. and are set in a 14Kt. White gold plate. On the bezel of the ring the words, "World Champions" are cut out. The word Lakers is on top of the diamonds. On one side of the ring the person's name is cut out. This is the name of the person who originally received the ring in the Lakers Organization. The ring's starting bid is at a whopping $22,500. So I think it's safe to assume it's the real thing. Plus you have to love that "Bling, Bling" on the side. Truly classic.
Now the question is, who exactly is selling this thing? Here's the side of the ring where the name is blocked out while it's in the process of being sold. Obviously it could just be some Lakers executive, but that's no fun. Besides, it's more likely it's a player anyway. So for those of you wondering who was on that Lakers roster, here you go.
Shaq, Kobe, A.C. Green, Glen Rice, Ron Harper, Travis Knight, Robert Horry, Rick Fox, Brian Shaw, Derek Fisher, John Salley, Devean George, John Celestand, Tyronn Lue.
Remember, guys do get nicknames engraved on these things frequently.
I'm going to go with a sleeper pick here and say Kobe. After all, he could use some extra cash to buy his wife another ring after all these recent affair rumors.
