2007-08 NBA Schedule: Greg Oden vs Tim Duncan on Opening Night
The full NBA schedule will be released this afternoon at 1 ET, but Sports Media Watch has already learned of a few marquee games. Most notably, 1st overall pick Greg Oden will play his first NBA game against Tim Duncan. Good call, David Stern.

Other notable info that has leaked:

- Boston Celtics open up against the Washington Wizards on ESPN
- Portland Trailblazers have a combined 11 TV appearances
- Mavericks/Cavs also on opening night for ESPN followed by Kevin Durant's debut.

I'll post more comments on the full schedule when it comes out in an hour.

Oden's first game is an "L".

I know this is all about marketing, and the whole passing the baton of big men, but this won't even be a game.  Oden will get dominated, but it won't be his fault - NBA Big men take at least a year to get going.

very true. Despite averaging 20+ ppg in his rookie season, Duncan didn't start to dominate until the 1999 lock-out season. His first ring.

Duncan also stayed in school, granted Oden looks like he's older than Duncan now.

hahaha! yeah. All those wrinkles on his face... maybe he can put his salary to good use and freshen up... 19 yr olds aren't supposed to look like that...

For the other games to be released today... isn't Boston vs LA the most obvious Christmas Day match-up ever.  If that isn't there David Stern has lost his mind.

Christmas day is Miami at Cleveland, Phoenix at LA, and Seattle at Portland.

If I were doing it, it'd be LA at Boston, Golden State at Phoenix, and Seattle at Portland.  But why would you ever give the fans what they want?

Did you see their last game?  Warriors smoked the Suns.  If those teams played a series it'd go 7... and be lots of fun.

you'd see scores like PHX 136 GSW 145, @ Phoenix, GSW 166 PHX 171 in 2OT

But you have to take in account that there were essentially two different Golden State teams last year.
