Day two is here, this is the second half of my NBA Free Agent Rankings for 2008. I will be focusing on the next Tier of players in the article bellow, if you missed Tier 1, franchise changers, you can find it here.
Tier 2 – Missing Links?
Tier two of my free agent ranking, comes with a lot more uncertainty. Some players are young, and could develop into something special, while others are older, and I’m just not quite sure when they are going to hit that wall. The second tier doesn’t have franchise changers, but instead is made up of players that could be that last piece of the puzzle for a team with a need.
PG
Chris Duhon
- Chris Duhon, is the best young point guard in Tier two. He has all of the natural point guard abilities that you would be looking for, from his passing ability, to his scoring. I think the best presentation of his skills was the February 7th game, against the Warriors, where Chris Duhon added up a huge stat line with 34 points (on 11 of 16 shooting), 4 of 6 from 3 point land, 9 assists, and 3 steals. He has a lot of ability, and he can be a starter on most teams. I think once tier one is clear of free agents, he will be the first player that teams look for. What could hurt him, are some questions of size. He isn’t the biggest guard standing at a generous 6’ 1”.
Pros: Complete point guard package, poised
Cons: A little small, hasn’t had to show that he is a consistent scorer
