2008 NFL Schedule Announced; Patriots Will Flirt With 16-0 Again
If you're judging strictly by 2007 record, then yes, the Patriots have the easiest schedule in 2008.

This really shouldn't surprise anyone. Nor should it be discussed as much as it's been on the boring 2-hour ESPN special. New England obviously beat all it's division opponents, giving them a healthy 0-6 head in the easiest schedule race. Add in a few more teams from last year's schedule and you've got a winner. That said, adding such NFC powerhouses as the 49ers, Cardinals, and Rams doesn't make for a challenging schedule.

Possible Patriots losses? at Colts (again), vs Steelers (again), at San Diego. That's about it.

Enough about the Patriots. We'll be hearing plenty about them as the season approaches. Here's the games the stand out in the 2008 NFL Schedule.

Best Opening Week Game: Dallas Cowboys at Cleveland Browns. Many bad teams are going to be feeling good about themselves after the opening week. They all play each other.

Sept 21st, Cowboys at Packers: Aaron Rodgers booing begins. The new Packers QB gets an easy transition to the starting lineup with the Lions and Vikings defenses. At home on Sunday Night Football will make for a fired up crowd turning against Rodgers. That is, of course, unless Brett Favre comes back.

Monday Night Schedule Still Mediocre: Get pumped for Jets at Chargers, 49ers at Cardinals, Jaguars at Texans (Houston with a Monday Nighter? Interesting), and Bucs at Panthers. Woo!

Dallas Cowboys have a favorable schedule: Matt Mosley of Hashmarks lays it out for you here.

New Orleans has lost another home game
This doesn't make any sense. The Saints are forced to give up a home game, traveling to London to play San Diego (October 26th). At least London gets a solid contest.

Sept 14th, Raiders at Chiefs: Guarantee you whomever the Raiders pass on at No. 4 and lands with KC at No. 5 will terrorize Oakland just two weeks into the season. You can count on Lane Kiffin having wanted the Chiefs players, but Al Davis forced his hand.

Here's the full 2008 NFL Schedule. What games stand out for you?

As much as I think the Packers will struggle some with losing Favre, the Cowboys don't have much of a defense, so if Rodgers sucks against them he will deserve some criticism.

That is damn impressive that they could beat themselves. What week is that the Patriots play the Patriots?

Hopefully every week, and they both finish 8-8 and don't make the playoffs.

By the way, a mini-controversy in Green Bay with the schedule.    The Gold package, which is for Milwaukee, get the Dallas game and the Bears game.  That leaves the Green package, which is for everyone else, with Minnesota, Atlanta, Indy, Carolina, Houston, Detriot.  Indy and Minnesota are good games but the rest look like crap (maybe Houston could be decent.)

November 16 Broncos @ Falcons

The closest thing to kicking at elevation is kicking indoors.  Watch Elam kick a 64 yarder to beat the Broncos after Vanderjagt misses 3.

Outside of @ New England, the Broncos have a really easy schedule too.

Will you stop typing what haunts my sleep. Also are you serious Vanderjagt missing 3?

You know you are so wrong, it will be four.

If the Broncos get there collective heads out, they have a chance at a Wild Card 9-7 or 10-6. 11-5 if everything goes our way.  This is a manageable schedule, but when is an NFL schedule easy. Today's cupcakes are tomorrow's land mines.

Yeah, I thought two years ago schedule was easy.  Silly me.  Doesn't matter who you play if Shanny is going to continue to melt down.

Thankfully the Broncos only tried out Vanderjagt.  Hasn't been signed yet.  Rich Karlis have any kids?

Agreed, if Shanny can remember that in the Red Zone 7's = W's and 3's = L's then the Broncos might not be painful to watch.

As for Karlis, I am thinking he does have a couple of kids. I mean how can we miss a bunch of kids running around wearing one shoe. Now if we can't find them I think we can track down one of David Tredwell's nephews. Hey can't hurt.

Draft Joe Flacco and throw him into the fire. :championship:
That would be the intelligent draft pick which means it's unlikely to happen.

Quick tell me an offensive player the Bears have drafted in the last 10 years that's turned out above expectations.

Cedric Benson! Cade McNown! Curtis Enis! Rashaan Salaam! Kyle Orton! Well I guess you could count Devin Hester since they drafted him as a WR.

Being as hopeful as I am along with a drink of kool-aid in my right hand, Chiefs could go 10-6 or 11-5 easily...

That is all. Good Night.

Hester was a second rounder.
He didn't ask for first round picks that turned out above expectations, just draft picks.

I can understand someone who doesnt know anything about the Cowboys could think they didnt have a good defence. The Cowboys problem was they couldnt stay healthy. The first week they had all of their starts playing was week 14. Fergie went out in the 2nd week, which hurt the cowboys.  Plus our top 2 corners couldnt get healthy. Given, people were able to find our weakspot with Jaquees Reeves and roy williams. You guys forget, the cowboys were ranked number 9 in the NFL, infront of teams like GreenBay(whos defence was lights out most of the season), and Jacksonville.  They only gave up 20.3 pts/game (only 3.9 more then the best INDY), were 9th in total yards allowed, 13th in passing yards/game,  and were 6th vs. the rush giving up less then 90  /yds a game. And now, before the draft, before preseason, hell, befroe even the main part of free agency is over, your going to rule them out? Your going to rule out guys like NEwman, Henry, Hamlin, Thomas, Ayodele, Ware, Ellis, Tank, Spears, canty? And eventually another probowl corner in Pac? I love it when you guys drink the hater-aid and post things you obviously dont know anything about.

If you read further you'd see I pointed out they didn't sign him.  He just tried out.  He couldn't even beat out Gramatica to replace an injured Mare on the 'aints last year so I doubt the Broncos invest too heavily in him, if they bring him in at all.

I wish they would have drafted Crosby as insurance last year, there are no NFL-ready kickers in the '08 draft.  Only the Wisconsin kid is even close.
Ah I see.

When you can't beat Olindo Mare and Martin Gramatica, you may want to consider a new career.

Dallas vs the Brownies should be fun to watch...Braylon and company vs our secondary will be a huge test.  I don't expect them to be able to do much to slow us down either.

41-39 type game...also some added intrest, it could be Pac-Man's debut as a Cowboy.

Roy is like most hard hitting safetys, can't cover a lick.  He isn't as exposed with Henry on the other side but he's old and can't seem to stay healthy.  Pac-Man, if that happens will be a upgrade without a doubt to go on the other side of Newman.

We get enough pressure on the passer that we should be able to limit too much damage.

And again, we can score with anyone.

You have Ken Hamlin and the aging (and possibly most overrated player ever) Roy Williams in the defensive backfield.  That = crap.

And Pac Man is a horrible cover corner.  He's tiny.  His value is in the return game.

Good luck.

Points per game allowed means nothing.

Points per game allowed means nothing.

Wow. I'm almost speechless. Your an idiot. More than ANYTHING, PPG allowed is the MOST important stat. Hell, my 5 year old cousin can tell yea if you hold the opponents offense to less points then you score you win the game. That automatically disqualifies you from ever being taken serious again. LMAO....PPGA means nothing.

I should have said it doesn't mean as much as some would have you believe.  The Cowboys defense is one of the worst in the NFL.  Just because their offense dominates the ball doesn't mean the defense is great, they just have half as much to do.

One of the worst in the NFL???? 13th overall in the NFL...not great vs the pass but still.

You've got issues with the star son, it seems to affect your train of thought.

I just have issues with Jerry Jones.  Guy creeps me out.  Most of the fans seem to be cool.  I'll cool off on the hate if they steer clear of Adam Jones.

All REAL Cowboy fans have some issues with Jerry...I have quite a few.

Still, in the end he wants to win and does what he thinks will make that happen.  He's been wrong a few times (Barry...Campo...Q...etc) but he's made more right than wrong.
