FanIQ Big 12 power rankings: Week 10

1. Kansas State (8-0, 5-0 Big 12; LW: No. 1) -- Collin Klein and the stellar Wildcat defense have moved into the BCS National Championship picture by sitting at No. 2 in the BCS Standings. Last week's decisive win over a quality Texas Tech team proves that Kansas State is worthy of this ranking and is a legitimate threat to potentially knock off Alabama. Next up: vs. Oklahoma State, Saturday, 8 p.m. ET (ABC).

2. Oklahoma (5-2, 3-1; LW: No. 2) -- Boomer Sooner leaves Norman with their tales between their legs, having lost yet another big game against a top-10 opponent. Landry Jones was ineffective in the red zone, the running game was non-existent, and the defense struggled to contain Everett Golson. A trip to Ames, Iowa should get things back on track. Next up: at Iowa State, Saturday, 12 p.m. ET (ABC).

3. Texas Tech (6-2, 3-2; LW: No. 3) -- Although they were blown out, the Red Raiders showed a lot of tenacity in their 55-24 loss to Kansas State — things just slipped away in the second half. Texas Tech has a great chance to finish out the season with 10 wins, but it all starts this weekend against the Longhorns. Next up: vs. Texas, Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC).

4. Oklahoma State (5-2, 3-1; LW: No. 6) -- The defense has come to its own and the offense is clicking with Wes Lunt under center, but we'll find out who exactly the Oklahoma State Cowboys are this Saturday when they go on the road to play the Wildcats. Next up: at Kansas State, Saturday, 8 p.m. ET (ABC).

5. West Virginia (5-2, 2-2; LW: No. 5) -- Bad things will happen if West Virginia loses a third straight. I'd be afraid of Dana Holgorsen in a situation like that. Next up: vs. TCU, Saturday, 3 p.m. ET (Fox).

6. TCU (5-3, 2-3; LW: No. 4) -- You're going to get inconsistent play from your kids when they're underclassman-dominant. That's what we're seeing with the Horned Frogs, who are struggling with the big boys of the Big 12. Next up: at West Virginia, Saturday, 3 p.m. ET (Fox).

7. Texas (6-2, 3-2; LW: No. 7) -- Beating Kansas on a last-second touchdown pass by your second-string quarterback can't feel too great, especially when it was your starter that was replaced after being ineffective for three quarters. Yeah. Next up: at Texas Tech, Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC).

8. Iowa State (5-3, 2-3; LW: No. 8) -- Iowa State owns one of the better defensive units in the Big 12, and that really showed in its 35-21 win over Baylor. Next up: vs. Oklahoma, Saturday, 12 p.m. ET (ABC).

9. Baylor (3-4, 0-4; LW: No. 9) -- After a promising 3-0 start, the Bears have dropped four in a row and are in huge jeopardy of missing the postseason for the first time since 2009. They'll take on Kansas before encountering Oklahoma, Kansas State, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State. That's a brutal stretch. Next up: vs. Kansas, Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET (FSN).

10. Kansas (1-7, 0-5; LW: No. 10) -- Charlie Weiss got a little too excited and became conservative when he got the rare fourth quarter lead. The Jayhawks' defense is improved, but not to the extent where it can be relied upon in pressured moments against a high-powered Texas offense. So close, Charlie. So close. Next up: at Baylor, Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET (FSN).
