1. Louisville (5-0, 0-0 Big East; LW: No. 1) -- Coming off a bye, the Cardinals are expected to take care of business against a Pitt team that just lost to Syracuse. Next up: at Pittsburgh, Saturday, 11 a.m. ET (ESPNU).
2. Rutgers (5-0, 2-0; LW: No. 2) -- UConn had no chance against Rutgers' ferocious back seven, as the Scarlet Knights forced four Chandler Whitmer interceptions — one which was returned for a touchdown. Next up: vs. Syracuse, Saturday, 12 p.m. ET (Big East Network).
3. Cincinnati (4-0, 1-0; LW: No. 3) -- Miami (Oh.) owns one of the better passing attacks in the nation behind quarterback Zac Dysert, but the Bearcats held him to just 6.2 yards per attempt and forced three interceptions. Next up: vs. Fordham, Saturday, 7 p.m. ET (ESPN3).
4. Temple (2-2, 1-0; LW: No. 7) -- Louisville, Rutgers and Cincinnati. Then who? The Big East's bottom five will likely be a carousel from here on out, but the Owls move up to No. 4 for at least a week. Next up: at Connecticut, Saturday, 1 p.m. ET (ESPN3).
5. Syracuse (2-3, 1-0; LW: No. 8) -- The Orange are extremely inconsistent, having lost to Minnesota and allowing FCS Stony Brook to hang tight. That said, they're 1-0 in the conference and have won two of their last three. Next up: at Rutgers, Saturday, 12 p.m. ET (Big East Network).
6. Connecticut (3-3, 0-1; LW: No. 5) -- Offensively, the Huskies were awful. But they held a ranked Rutgers to just 13 offensive points and have some positives to work with. Next up: vs. Temple, 1 p.m. ET (ESPN3).
7. Pittsburgh (2-4, 0-2; LW: No. 4) -- Pitt's two wins come against a reeling Virginia Tech team and FCS Gardner-Webb. Its losses are horrific: Youngstown State, Cincinnati and Syracuse by a combined 39 points. Next up: vs. Louisville, Saturday, 11 a.m. ET (ESPNU).
8. South Florida (2-4, 0-2; LW: No. 6) -- That contract extension for Skip Holtz isn't looking like such a good idea, anymore. If the Bulls don't make a bowl this year, he could be looking for a new job. Next up: BYE
