Does defense really win championships? [NCAA Championship Live Thread]
9:23pm (what's that about?) in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
From the beginning, Louisville has been the favorite to win the championship game. I personally didn't see many Michigan picks while scouring the interwebs, but I'm sure they're out there; especially now. Michigan came in a #4 seed and has played like they belong exactly where they are now - facing the Cardinals in the biggest game of the year. (For a more in-depth preview, take a look at FanIQ's Andrew_Erickson has for us.)
Apparently the #1 offense and #1 defense have not faced each other in quite some time, according to The Big Lead. This should obviously make for a very hard-fought close exciting game.
I would generally be inclined to pick the upset, because that's how I roll. However, due to Kevin Ware's freak accident and the fact that Louisville has the possibility of repeating what Connecticut achieved a few years ago by having both of their basketball teams win a championship game, I'm going with the Cards tonight.
Who've ya got?
