Week 7 of the 2013 NFL regular season could be one of firsts. A couple of winless teams have very real opportunities to pick up what have been elusive victories. Outside of that, we'll all be waiting all day for Sunday night when Peyton takes on the Colts.
2013 Week 7 NFL picks: Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals
Thursday night games are wacky. That, along with how horrible Seattle looked last weekend, had me considering going with the upset pick. Here's the problem. Seattle has what is statistically the second-best pass defense in the NFL, and Arizona isn't even averaging 86 rushing yards per game. The Cards live and die on the pass, and die on Thursday they shall.
2013 Week 7 NFL picks: Cleveland Browns at Green Bay Packers
Brandon Weeden is starting at quarterback for Cleveland. That's all I really need to know. Yes, I understand Green Bay is a very banged up side at the moment. Know who isn't hurt? Aaron Rodgers.
2013 Week 7 NFL picks: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons
It was only last season that even the idea of TB leaving Atlanta with a win would have been unthinkable. My, how times quickly change. The Falcons are currently facing a situation that will see them attempt to replace Julio Jones with Brian Robiskie. Yikes.
2013 Week 7 NFL picks: Cincinnati Bengals at Detroit Lions
The Bengals winning this one in Cincy would be a believable scenario. Not so much with the game in Detroit, though. Cincinnati is a 3-3 or even a 2-4 team that is running around in 4-2 clothing. The secondary of the Bengals may not be able to stop Calvin Johnson even if Megatron isn't anywhere near 100 percent.
2013 Week 7 NFL picks: Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins
Two words for Buffalo: Tim Tebow. I kid, I kid. The Bills are undeniably going to struggle without E.J. Manuel, who could possibly be out for up to six weeks. Yikes.
2013 Week 7 NFL picks: New England Patriots at New York Jets
Hey, everybody. The good ol' Jets are back. I have no doubt that MetLife Stadium will be rocking on Sunday, but this New York defense is not the one that helped the team get to within a single game of the Super Bowl. Unless there is another monsoon, Tom Brady should be able to pick that secondary apart.
2013 Week 7 NFL picks: Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles
We all finally get to find out which NFC East team is the least mediocre. The Cowboys are going to be missing two star players for this one, and Philadelphia quarterback Nick Foles is settling in as the team's starter. I don't think either of these teams are anything special. The Eagles should be good enough to win what could be an ugly game.
2013 Week 7 NFL picks: Chicago Bears at Washington Redskins
I don't want to believe that the Redskins are actually this awful. Their record tells me otherwise. Another thing the numbers tell me is that the Washington run defense isn't any good. That's bad news for them considering that Matt Forte is coming to town.
