Alright folks, rookie camps are gearing up this week which means the nhl is right around the corner, here are ten reasons to get excited about the new schedule format for the upcoming season.
#3- teams don't have to play each other 8 times a year if they're in the same division
Now as much as we all loved the florida-carolina or nashville-columbus "rivalries" 8 times a year is a bit much for any fan.
#2 more games against teams that don't normally play each other
When teams only played each other once every 3 years there were so many games that we would love like detroit-pittsburgh, detroit-ottawa, any good match up that unless you can afford to travel alot you had to sit on your thumbs and wait
#1 the crosby and ovechkin show
This one is especially true for me seeing how i just moved from ottawa to calgary, I didn't want to leave the eastern conference with all the youngstars, now it's not as much of an issue, being able to see ovechkin or crosby every other year, as well as a calgary ottawa match up, I have no problem with the new scheduling
