Players need to be ready to pass, shoot or dribble ... fans need to know the scores, stats and rumors. Your daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:What You Need to Know
Lebron spoils Yao's return
After missing two months you can't expect the Rockets to immediately become a cohesive unit. Yao was rusty, 5 for 15 shooting with 5 turnovers. Tracy McGrady didn't help much shooting 10 for 32. I recall putting a big chunk of the Cavaliers first half of the season woes on the shoulder of coach Mike Brown and the rest on Lebron. Post All-Star break they're only 4-3 but the level of play has increased a great deal ... I'm curious if Brown conceded some of his slow down focus on defense style?
Wading through his absence, Heat win again on old timer's night
Miami has won 4 of 5 with Dwyane out of the lineup. Take your time, man ... take your time. In the meantime, the 35 and over crowd were having some fun. Eddie Jones scored 21 points, Shaq added 14 and Gary Payton 11. The Heat will be making the playoffs ... count on it. How bout an Eastern Conference Final in the 1st round w/ Detroit?
Pistons take the night off, blitzed by Warriors
That's the only way to explain losing by 18 at home to Golden State. That and the fact the Warriors weren't missing any shots, particularly Jason Richardson who's finally resurfaced after an injury.
