Every day during the NBA playoffs, the Triple Threat will break down the latest action as they (slowly) move towards the Finals.Spurs dominate Utah Once again, the second quarter did in Utah. The Spurs outscored the Jazz by 15 in the second period, giving them a 17 point lead at the half. It was a lead San Antonio would not relinquish in winning 105-96. The Jazz attempted to come back, getting within seven at one point, but the Spurs were just too strong. Utah is a good team at home, but it's hard envisioning them coming back from the 2-0 deficit they're in right now.
Northwest strikes gold Portland won #1 pick in the draft lottery, and Seattle won the #2 pick. Memphis and Boston were the biggest losers, dropping to the 4 and 5 picks respectively (some would call it karma for tanking). Phoenix also lost, as Atlanta took the 3 slot, allowing them to keep their pick. The rest of the teams must take solstice in the fact that this is a deep draft, and that they didn't have much of a chance or striking gold.
Portland now gets to add Oden or Durant to the following core: Roy, Aldridge, Randolph (if he's not traded), Rodriguez, Jack, Webster, and Outlaw (maybe). Wow. For the Sonics, it remains to be seen if Oden or Durant can keep them in Seattle. It does give them a much better shot than what it was before the lottery.
