Now that Bud Selig is gone, Barry Bonds got back in rhythm, crushing his 754th home run to left center during his first at bat tonight.

I don't know if Selig added pressure to the situation, I suppose he did, but without the commish Barry seems very loose tonight.

What remains amazing to me is how enthusiastically everyone in San Francisco supports Barry. The passion and loyalty of fans to their team is a powerful, albeit blinding, force.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if he sent out the record tying home run later tonight. Stay tuned.

1	If I were a pitcher, I would intentionally walk Barry Bonds with the bases loaded in a tie game before I let him hit #755 or 756 off of me.

1	I find it interesting how so many people say that Vick is innocent until proven guilty on the dogfighting charges, but when it comes to Bonds, he doesn't get the leniency.

Yeah but since he's going on the road for 6 games, he probably will play the last home game, then miss as many road games as possible. Edit: Bonds also said he plans to play both games.

The only people that are giving Vick any leniency are:

-Falcons fans
-People who are trying to make it an issue of race

The only people who give Bonds any leniency are:

-Giants fans
-People who are trying to make it an issue of race

Either way, it's people who think their team benefits from the player in question, or who blindly trust and love someone solely based on the color of their skin. Neither one really gets any "leniency" from anyone credible.

0	Are you serious. Do you really have to stare at the keyboard that long to figure out where the little button with a "dot" is? 10 seconds is an awfully long time. brry bnds needs to die in a fire yeah thats rite die in a fire he needs to just flat out poor some gas on his limo or sumthing lite a match and throw it on the car after hes gotten in it that way u and i dont have to worry bout his breaking hanks records or sumthing

Their's a simple solution to all the people who don't want to see Barry break some historic hr record, don't watch. Simply walk over to your tv or use your remote and turn the channel. That way instead of watching Barry break the record you can watch something much more pleasing to you. For instance, the Hall of Fame ceremony where Cal Ripken Jr. and Tony Gwynn are taking their rightful spots in the Hall.

Just out of curiosity because he was so much more fan and media friendly even with his own steroid questions arising, would it have been easier if this were Big Mac breaking this record instead of the very unpopular Bonds?
