Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-USA TODAY SportsWhen Kobe Bryant will return has been a big question mark virtually since he tore his Achilles tendon last season. He's been careful not to set a date because he doesn't want to push himself.

It seems like there's a light at the end of the tunnel though. The Los Angeles Lakers have said that Bryant may return as soon as next Friday for their away game in Sacramento.

They have no games between Sunday and Friday, so Coach Mike D'Antoni said:

"I don't want to anticipate anything. Those are days that he can work and see, re-evaluate how he feels after the three days and then make a decision going forward. That doesn't mean he will play Friday, doesn't mean he won't. But that's the time you just evaluate, and I can't tell you what type of evaluation that will be."

He also added that soon Kobe will be listed as day-to-day soon.

Everyone who has seen Kobe practicing has said that he basically looks the same, but they'll continue to wait and not rush things.
