A Good Night to be at Wrigley

Walking through yesterday's MLB action ...

Made my way down to Wrigley last night for my first game of the year. I picked a good night.

If this isn't proof the Cubs are accustomed to losing, then I don't know what it. The old scoreboards underneath the second deck don't allow for double digits. The score wasn't 1-0 Reds. That would be a 10-spot for the Cubs.

Josh Fogg had a rough go of it giving up nine runs in two innings. The Reds pitching was so bad, Carlos Zambrano went 3-for-4.

Highlight of the night: After Adam Dunn homered in the the 8th, not only did that ball come back onto the field but so did a dozen others. Classic. Cubs 12, Reds 3.

Highlighting the other games in their words

Tigers 13, Indians 2 - "The best thing about this game is that it ended." - Let's Go Tribe

Yankees 15, Red Sox 9
- "Ugh. Argh. Egad. Pick a grunt, they all pretty well sum up the Red Sox pitching staff's performance last night in the team's 15-9 loss to the New York Yankees. And since that's just about all I can say rationally without launching into a diatribe we'll all regret, I'll pipe down right there." - Red Sox Monster

Cardinals 5, Brewers 4
- " For the record, let’s take a look at the batting averages for the Brewers ‘big bats’:

Rickie Weeks: .196

Ryan Braun: .226

Prince Fielder: .222

Bill Hall: .204

JJ Hardy: .190

Corey Hart: .319

Sorry, but that’s just pathetic and needs to change immediately. I know it’s only 13 games into the season and it’s far too early to panic, but there is too much riding on this season to just wait on all these players to break out of their slumps. Something needs to ignite this team before Cameron returns and it needs to happen starting tonight." - Brewers Bar

I don't know if I'd call JJ Hardy a big bat, but you're right.  Corey Hart needs to be moved to leadoff, but JJ in the 2, Weeks at the 5 and Hall at the 6.  They need some kind of shake-up.
