If you opened up today's edition of Sports Illustrated, you may have noticed an interesting letter to the editor under the headline "Abusive Fans." Apparently the father of some Oregon ~~douchebag~~ student read Grant Wahl's end of February article on extremely abusive college fans, and noticed his son giving Kevin Love the one-fingered salute in the magazine. So what did he do? Let's find out.

"I was shocked to see, in a photo of the Oregon student section, my son partaking in the harassment of UCLA's Kevin Love. When he came home the following weekend, his car was taken away and he headed back to school on a bus. I am embarrassed and wish to apologize to Kevin and his family." -- Armando Navarro, Clackamas, Ore.

Ouch. Nothing like going back to school on a bus and having everyone know about it thanks to your father and idiot bloggers such as myself.

Try as you might, you won't find this image on to SI's abusive fans photos on the internet, likely because it was a dude giving the middle finger. Luckily, And Whammy Sports Blog managed to snag the picture from the pages of the original SI article.

Yeah, I'd say he deserved the punishment he got.

Stay classy, Oregon.

I am proud of the way love and his dad were treated by the people who truly know how despicable they are. If the nation knew how these two deuchbags conducted themselves while living in Lake Oswego people would be angry at the oregon fans for being too soft. On a side note, anybody who is actually offended by a student flipping the bird at a college basketball game needs to chill out. I can't believe how many people that curse and yell when their team's losing pretended to be outraged at this stupid story, its a joke. By the way, Kevin Love's John Amechi.

Kevin had better learn some humility as a pro, before going into grade schools to read to children in the community.

And, the only embarrassment I have is that Stan Love was ever a Duck, and not for the students harrassing a "me player", who clearly deserved it. As far as I'm concerned the students got a "free pass" (for that game only) to do and say whatever for the game at McArthur Court that night.

Kevin Love is going to outshine his dad's career in the pros. What WILL UCLA do for next year?? So ride them coattails, Dad (until a knee gets blown out, that is). After that, they can limp back to Lake O together, and recall what awful fingers those mean ol' Oregon students used in that game.
