Representatives from the Atlantic Coast Conference office and officials from all 12 schools are meeting this week to discuss several issues regarding the future of its athletics.
The chief topic centers around basketball and football scheduling where both would like to extend its conference slate by a game or two.
Another discussion centers around potential cost cutting measures the conference can take with the current economic crunch our country is facing. Such measures could include not having the meetings at a Ritz-Carlton on Amelia, Island in Florida. That would be a hell of a start.
Just when you think the NCAA and their conferences have reached a hypocritical peak, they go out and amaze us even more.
I can just see the agenda today looking like this.
8:00am - Breakfast.Just remember this the next time the NCAA/ACC is forced to reduce scholarships across the board. A tradition of hypocrisy... then, now, and always.
8:30am - Discuss the possible elimination of women's golf conference wide.
9:00am - Tee times begin for ACC Spring Meetings Scramble.
4:00pm - Discuss reductions in athletes travel stipend for food.
6:00pm - 5-course dinner and awards banquet.
8:00pm - Unveil schedule for 2008 fall meetings in Turks & Caicos
