Aaron Rodgers Signs Extension With The Green Bay Packers Through 2014
Brett Favre Fans Will Now Whine About Aaron Rodgers For At Least 6 Years
The Packers have signed a contract extension for Aaron Rodgers, making him their QB until 2014. Brett Favre's much-maligned replacement in Green Bay has thrown for 1,668 yards and 12 TD's through 7 games so far, and is 7th in the NFL with a 98.8 QB rating.

Many Packers fans expressed disappointment with the Packers allowing Favre to leave, but the move has paid off big time so far, as Rodgers has excelled as their new QB. With 12 TD's and only 4 INT's, he has outperformed even the legendary Favre so far.

Rodgers is in his 4th season, and made his first career start on opening day this year. The Packers are 4-3 and tied for first in the NFC North with the Chicago Bears.

As long as he can stay healthy, this looks like a great move by the Packers. Rodgers shows a lot of potential. His poise throughout the Favre retirement/unretirement saga was incredible, and his play thus far has been extraordinary. Look for the Packers to be a perennial playoff contender under Rodgers' leadership.

Look for the Packers to be a perennial playoff contender under Rodgers' leadership [provided they get him any help whatsoever].

This was a great move by the Packers.  I watched Aaron at Cal while I attended.  He is a great guy who has a big heart and not a big ego.  I love the guy.  Since he went to GB I have become a huge Packers fan.  OK, now lets beat the dreaded Titans!

Green Bay had no choice but to sign Aaron Rodgers to a long term contract to quell the fans after Brett Favre has proven that he can still get it done.  Lets face it, how many packer fans are really aaron rodgers fans yet?

I watched Rogers play an awful lot as well having grown up in the area. I'm still so damn pissed that the 49ers not only failed to draft Rodgers, but also DeSean Jackson. How do you let local talent slip by you in the draft?

I agree man.  It hurts real bad to have this talent move out of the area.  If Mike Nolan had half a brain, which he doesn't, he would have drafted Rodgers and Tha1, aka Desean Jackson....
