NBA Deputy Commissioner, Adam Silver, told NBA owners on Thursday that a 2-inch by 2-inch patch will be stitched onto NBA jerseys for the ’13-’14 season.
Silver said, “Our view is we think, on an aggregate basis, league-wide, our 30 teams could generate in total $100 million by selling that patch on jerseys, per season. I think it’s fair to say that our teams were excited about the opportunity and think there is potentially a big opportunity in the marketplace to put a two-by-two patch on the shoulder of our jerseys.”
While, NBA jerseys are not going to look like soccer uniforms or NASCAR any time soon, look for NBA players to soon have McDonald’s golden arches or Google patches on their left or right shoulder.

So ... are they going to limit who can sponsor? What if HOOTERS wants to advertise? Or Hustler or Playboy? What will the right wing conservatives say about that? Or will it only be for companies "approved" by the NBA?
