Up until this point in the season, it seems that Adam "Don't Call Me Pacman" Jones has been more or less a model citizen. Or as much of a model citizen as a guy who's been arrested more than 10 times can be. Obviously, given Pacman's past, the NFL and the Cowboys made it clear to him that if he messed up again, he'd be gone.
Well, he may have messed up again.
According to CBS-11 Dallas/Ft. Worth (via Pro Football Talk), Jones got into a “violent confrontation” with his own bodyguard at an upscale hotel in Dallas on Tuesday night.
Sources say police were called after Jones argued with one of his own bodyguards. By the time police arrived he was headed back inside the hotel and patrons could clearly hear a fight going on in the bathroom.
That fight was allegedly between 'Pacman' Jones and a member of his security detail. Security inside the hotel allegedly pulled the two apart. At least one mirror was broken in the confrontation.
Sources say Jones went outside and left the hotel without paying his tab. He was reportedly with a woman who drove the two away from the scene.
There's no police report because Jones left before the police showed up, so this probably won't go anywhere further than Pacman paying his tab and for whatever he broke. But if a guy is getting into a fight with his own bodyguard, you've got to wonder what on earth he'll do next.Hilariously, Roger Goodell actually met with the Cowboys on Wednesday morning, and said Jones was conducting himself in a way that reflects well on himself, the Cowboys and the NFL. Obviously, Goodell had no clue about this incident at the time. Had he been, he probably wouldn't have been quite as pleased.
Anyway, right now the Cowboys aren't exactly playing their best and they're getting defensive about justified media criticism, all while TO continues to revert back to old TO form. And then this happens. There's no way around it, something bad is definitely brewing in Dallas. The question is can they prevent it from blowing up before reaching the Super Bowl?
My guess: Not a chance in hell.
