Adam Schefter: Hakeem Nicks Could Only Miss 6 Weeks

When news broke yesterday that  New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks would miss twelve weeks after fracturing his foot, many wondered if he would be ready for the season opener. Earlier today Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Nicks may only miss four to six weeks.

Citing a person familiar with the injury, Schefter believes that Nicks could be back in the middle of July, and be ready for the season opener. Foot injuries are tricky, as Prince Amukamara was only expected to miss seven weeks with the same injury but did not return until Week 11.
