Adrian Moten gives us an early nominee for college football defensive play of the year

Maryland Terrapin Adrian Moten channels his inner Lavar Arrington

In an opening college football weekend that saw Utah, BYU, TCU and Boise State continue to prove the critics wrong, a successful debut by Brian Kelly as coach of Notre Dame and impressive performances by Michigan and LSU, perhaps the top play of the weekend game in yesterday's game between Navy and Maryland.  Navy is well known for it's rushing attack and yesterday was no different, as the Midshipmen marched up and down the field against the Terrapins.  However, when Navy got inside the 5, Maryland stepped up and came up again and again with big defensive stands, turnovers and big time plays like the one below.

My pick for defensive play of the weekend goes to Adrian Moten, who channeled his inner Lavar Arrington by leaping over the Navy offensive line, stuffing Ricky Dobbs and forcing a turnover that halted a Midshipmen drive.
