FanIQ | Sports Rumors, Gossip, Blogs, News & Discussion ForumsAs always, there are two sides to a story and Adrian Peterson is actively trying to make his side of the story heard after he was arrested by three officers at a Houston night club for resisting arrest. Not only has the Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson an attorney Rusty Hardin to represent him at a hearing in court on Friday, but he also took to twitter to assert his innocence. Adrian Peterson took a quote from the great Winston Churchill and thanked his fans for waiting up on the truth rather than making hasty judgments.

“A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on,” wrote Adrian Peterson, referencing Winston Churchill.

“Thank you for waiting for the facts,” Adrian Peterson continued in his tweet. “Truth will surface.”

Adrian Peterson was near the bar at Live! at Bayou Place with a group of people late Saturday, in downtown Houston, when an off-duty Houston Police officer approached him at closing time and asked the group to leave. Then the officer went off to ask the other pattern to leave the bar. When the officer returned on rounds, he asked Adrian Peterson again to leave, at which the 27-year-old yelled at the officer that he had been hear d the first time and pushed him in the shoulder.

The Officer tried to arrest Adrian Peterson but he reportedly “assumed an aggressive stance”" due to which another officer intervened, but the due failed to overpower the running back. It took three officers to take Adrian Peterson into arrest.

Adrian Peterson spent the night in jail and was released on a $1,000 bond a few hours later.

Adrian Peterson is contesting that isn’t how the situation went down. There were more than one security camera angels from which the scene was recorded and hopefully the footage will be of help in resolving the case.

For now, Adrian Peterson has been strictly guided by his attorney, Rusty Hardin to refrain from sharing information about the incident. Rusty Hardin is the same lawyer who legally represented other athletes such as Scottie Pippen, Wade Boggs, Warren Moon and more recently Roger Clemens (in his perjury trial following drug abuse allegations). Rusty Hardin will take-on Adrian Petersons’ case at the Harris County Criminal Court on Friday.

Since Adrian Peterson has only been charged with resisting arrest which is a misdemeanor, thus Houston Police Department spokesperson Kese predicted that the player will get away with only a nominal fine.

Adrian Peterson’s father Nelson was suspicious about the whole incident. He asserted Adrian Peterson was a responsible citizen and a father of a seven-year-old who would never try to violate the law. Nelson Peterson further went on to doubt the credibility of the Houston police Department

“The officer said he pushed him, shoved him, then why is he not charged with assault?” Nelson Peterson argued. “Only charged with resisting arrest. Doesn't make sense.”
