It looks like the coaching search for Alabama's next basketball coach might be over.

Alabama will reportedly offer Anthony Grant a formal offer on Wednesday.

Grant is currently the head coach at VCU.  He led his team to an 11th seed in this year's NCAA tournament, losing in the first round to UCLA 65-64.  He led VCU to a 28-7 record in 2006-07, and 24-8 in 07-08.

Before coming to VCU, Grant was an assistant for 12 years at Marshall and Florida under Billy Donovan.

Grant will be coming into a pretty good situation at Alabama.  The Tide definitely has plenty of talent on the team, with plenty of it returning next season.  This isn't quite Coach Calipari or Knight (like many people were speculating), but it is definitely a good signing if Alabama can land Anthony Grant.  Too many years of choking in road games and postseason games could come to an end.  Get this deal done, Mal Moore.
