July 25, 2013; Oakland, CA, USA; Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Albert Pujols (5) hits a RBI-single to score left fielder J.B. Shuck (39, not pictured) in front of Oakland Athletics catcher Derek Norris (36, right) during the third inning at O.co Coliseum. Mandatory Credit: Kyle Terada-USA TODAY SportsAlbert Pujols has been diagnosed with a partially torn plantar fascia tendon in his foot, and many analysts think that this is where his season will come to an end.

The slugger has had a rough go health-wise since leaving the Cardinals, but sitting out the rest of the season may remedy this.

If he takes the time to get well and get whatever treatment is necessary, then by the time next season rolls around, it's far more likely that he'll be closer to his old self than he has been recently.
