I don't mean to sensationalize it, but the last month of sports have been depressingly brutal. Luckily, there are little guys with massive hearts like Alec Kraft to make my day and remind you of sports importance in real life. (Thanks to Sports Scope for the tip)Alec Kraft is a 12-year-old from Farmington Hills, Michigan. He loves baseball, but unfortunately suffers from Crohn's Disease which makes playing the game very difficult for him. Every movement is filled with pain. He had to miss a couple of games this season to get IV treatments. Because of these struggles he had failed to get a base hit all season.
That's where the real life Disney story comes into play. His team is losing 9-7 to the best little leaguers in his area, two outs, two men on in the bottom of the final inning.
Alec Kraft steps to the plate ... You might be able to guess what happens, but it's still worth reading. I'll let the Detroit Free Press take the rest.
