John Supinie had a good piece today on new Illini transfer Alex Legion and his decision to join Bruce Weber's program. Legion joined the Illini after playing nine games on his freshman season for Kentucky. The reason Legion making his decision himself is noteworthy is because of how he ended up at Kentucky in the first place.
For those of you who aren't intimate with how Legion ended up at Kentucky, you need to know a little bit about Mama Legion. You see, she is a prophet and God told her that Alex needs to attend Kentucky. I guess God is a fan of the Wildcats, Ashley Judd, or both. Well, God changed his mind because Alex decided to transfer. Well, that or Alex is risking the wrath of God.
As an Illini fan, I applaud Alex and his decision to bring on Mama Legion's and God's hellfire and come save Illini basketball. Legion can't help save this season (Hell, I doubt Pete Maravich resurrected could save this Illini season) but he sure will help next season. I'd venture to say get him on the floor in disguise or something, but red flags would go up as soon as someone in an Illini jersey created his own shot!
