Yesterday, there were reports that OK! Magazine was going to have a story coming out today that A-Rod and Madonna were possibly having an affair. But while OK! is known for their extensive and totally not exaggerated reporting (I'm being sarcastic here), I thought it would be stupid to post on. All they had was that A-Rod and Madonna shared the same gym and manager. That doesn't mean anything. Plus, I just don't care.But because this is America, where celebrity publications will actually dig through your trash to find dirt on you, someone of course had to follow up on this "story."
US Weekly, yet another bastion of journalism, has the following details that trump OK! Magazine's info. And because people read this stuff, I simply can't fight it any more.
A source tells Us that the $28-million-a-year Rodriguez, 32, has made numerous solo nighttime visits to Madonna, 49, at her spacious home and would sneak out "as late as midnight." Says the source, "All the doormen are talking."
Rodriguez attended Madonna's April 30 NYC concert; the singer sat in his seats at a Yankees game on June 22 (it was the first time she ever was photographed at a Yankees game).If you care, With Leather, which is as equally uninterested in this story as I am, has the pictures of Madonna at Yankees Stadium.
Now, as much as hate celebrity magazines, you know the old saying "where there's smoke, there's fire." And right now something is burning. Although that may just be my toast.
By the way, if this is ever revealed to be true, I can't even imagine what it would be like for A-Rod on the road. The heckling and abuse would be out of this world. Plus, we'd probably see those cone shaped bras make a come back (shudder).
So in other words, not for A-Rod's sake, but for the sake of fashion, let's hope this isn't true.
