Alex Rodriguez Says He Never Did Steroids In December of 2007 On 60 Minutes

Remember When A-Rod Told 60 Minutes He Never Used Steroids? Yeah, That Was Fun.

Here's an interesting video that Deadspin unearthed of A-Rod when he was on 60 Minutes in December of 2007, or 4 years after he reportedly did steroids. Katie Couric sat down with A-Rod and asked him about Barry Bonds' home run record, which A-Rod said was legit.

She then asked A-Rod flat out whether or not he'd ever used steroids or performance enhancing drugs. His answer?

No.

Yep, that would be what we call a lie.

So what have we learned from all of this? Basically that you can't trust anyone in sports and that there's a good chance everyone is cheating.

104 people on this list of steroid users, and only A-Rod's is leaked to the public?  What a shock?  Like him or dislike him A-Rod's an easy target right now do to three very big facts.  One he's been in the news lately for everything from divorce to alleged infidelity to being with Madonna.  Two he plays for the Yankees who you either love or hate and Three he is the closest to breaking Barry Bonds asterick marked career home run record.  For all you A-Rod haters out their, why don't  the other 100+ players who failed this test have their names posted?

Babe Ruth wasnt the baseball GOD people protray him to be. He was an alcoholic and woman beater and people act this man is GOD. Come on people get real. Oh yea i forgot Ty Cobb was a racists . So you wasnt uoyr children to grow up like them too. I hope not.

We've re-hashed the whole "Babe Ruth had his demons, Ty Cobb was a douche" mantra a few times already man.  Nobody's denying that there are very few squeaky-clean guys over the game's history.  We all agree on that.

I really enjoy "Lie to Me" Wednesday nights on Fox too, but geez.

I thought about saying something like that too.

You can see his mouth twitch (twice) after he answers "No" to her question about using steroids.

Does that indicate that he knew he was telling a lie?

Do you think at that instant, in his mind, he was picturing a day like today in which that lie came back to haunt him?

His bad move was in using steroids in the first place.  Within 30 minutes of this post, ten people will explain why it doesn't matter, because everyone did it.

Alex is done like Mr Clemens and Bonds his records will mean nothing and so will the rest of the pieces of junk that used. Remember the real homerun record is 61 long live Maris.

Alex you made a bad move. You should of said nothing at all about steroids.
